new single homes and granny flats

In NSW all new single homes and granny flats require a BASIX Certificate at DA stage. The first two of the following methods 1 and 2 are applicable. For other States the third method applies.

1. BASIX SERVICE Online (DIY) method by Archidoc (NSW only)

The Online DIY tool is suitable for simple designs with a maximum of 15 windows. If you wish to use this method we can assist you but recommend the simulation method for the best results.

2. BASIX SERVICE Simulation method by Archidoc (NSW only)

In not much more time it takes to do a DIY assessment we can model your home accurately and give better feedback with our room by room analysis showing where major heat gain or heat loss is occurring. We provide an easy to read Project Summary report for the Clients and Architects to check and approve.

3. NatHERS SERVICE by Archidoc (for other States and Territories)

Each other State and Territory government has their own Water and Energy efficiency regulations. For thermal comfort the minimum overall Star Rating is set for each State & Territory by variations or additions in the BCA . Usually a minimum of 5 or 6 stars.

We use approved software to enter the building information and run a simulation to determine the heating and cooling loads and a star rating. We can also perform a room by room analysis showing where major heat gain or heat loss occur.

As with the other methods we provide an easy to read Project Summary report for the Clients and Architects to check and approve before the issue of an ABSA Certificate showing the Star rating and project particulars.
